July 1, 2026. Colossus. Iceland, Day 7. The photo doesn't do justice to the size of my new tent neighbour, which I call Colossus. It's battery powered, air cooled, and holds four (though they had extra help setting it up last night). I'm not going to let it get to me, though it did have me thinking thoughts about how to be more happy and less grouchy. It's not so easy some days. July 13, 2025. These are the tracks at Boundary Road a few kilometers west of Avonmore. I wanted to go on a longer ride today, despite the heat. Stopped for a nice lunch at Rockin' Rondas in Avonmore, then had to race the rain on the way back. The rain won. As I stood there in the middle of the gale about 13 km from home, a guy from a nearby farm stopped and offered me a lift. Sweltering

July 12, 2025. A scene on the road just north of St. Albert on my usual cycling loop. Back from Mont Tremblant. Got out for a short ride in some very hot temperatures. I noted to myself that I've reached the point where cycling is actually effortless. P.S.
