January 14, 2024. This was the back ward today - bare trees and plenty of snowfall. A pretty good storm is brewing. I stayed indoors all day and worked on my European project, making a ton of progress. I'm also waking up early because I have a 4:00 a.m. meeting tomorrow. November 13, 2023. I was up bright and early this morning in time to see the lightly falling snow. I'm not a fan of snow but this snowfall was really pretty. Today was a holiday but for me what that meant was a full day to work on my European project. https://flic.kr/p/2pgEkvC

November 9, 2023. Woke up to a fresh snowfall. Again, this snow will be shortlived. But that doesn't mean it's welcome. I've been working on my longer term project to move my media files to cloud storage; today was another step forward in that. https://flic.kr/p/2pgzDXV

October 30, 2023. Getting ready for Halloween - the decorations have been up for several weeks now - and we got our first snowfall of the year. I'm still recovering from my trip - I caught a nasty cold on the way home and haven't been good for anything. https://flic.kr/p/2pfFG7Y

April 1, 2023. It actually got pretty warm today, especially in the bright sunshine, and I was able to get out for an actual bicycle ride. It was pretty slow since I'm warming up the new bike on gravel, and the shoulders were soft from all the rain and snow. No complaints, though. https://flic.kr/p/2oqMsXE

March 23, 2023. It was above zero and rainy today, which produced a fog as the snow sublimated. In the distance I could hear a train coming. But because of the dim light and the motion and all, I wasn't able to get a good shot as it went by, so you have to imagine the train whistle in the distance as it approaches in the fog. One meeting today, and as is so often the case with NRC meetings, it left me stressed out for no good reason. But still I made some progress on the technology barriers report. February 26, 2023. We were back out snowshoeing in Larose Forest east today. And also, for the first time this season, listening to the Blue Jays on a Sunday afternoon. I started out strong but lost energy quickly; Andrea meanwhile was fast throughout and had to wait for me. I got a few newsletter posts done and uploaded a video, that's it. I also changed the date of my flight to Spain to avoid a snowstorm, but sent the wrong dates to the host. January 24, 2023. This is just an ordinary house I see when I go on my walk, but it's funny how a few trees and some snow make any old house a postcard picture.
