Parked

Image
January 16, 2018. Today was spent catching up on some tasks and laying out the groundwork for some blockchain projects coming up this year. At lunch time we went to St. Albert to visit the cheese factory. These two ATVs were parked neatly in the parking lot, sharing a space between them. https://flic.kr/p/2damc8m

The Gate

Image
January 15, 2019. This is what it looks like when I get home from the office. This is the gated railway crossing, a block over from our house. Just another day in the office wrapping up my post on learning Electron. https://flic.kr/p/2ebKKmY

The Second Floor

Image
January 14, 2019. This is the second floor of M-55 (the old CISTI Building) at the NRC in Ottawa, where I spent the afternoon in a committee meeting on enabling open science at the institution. In the morning I worked on Part 2 of my blog post describing my experiences learning Electron. No Man's Sky in the evening. https://flic.kr/p/23BQtBv

Riverside

Image
January 13, 2018. I finished my Udemy course on Electron today (and even got the certificate). Then I wrote Part 1 of my summary of my course experience learning Electron. A day well spent. https://flic.kr/p/2cQsm2X

Kitchenware

Image
January 12, 2018. We went to CA Paradis/The Chef's Paradise in Ottawa to get some stuff to support Andrea's baking hobby. This store has pretty much everything you would need for cooking and baking (and is mostly likely our new go-to for kitchen supplies). https://flic.kr/p/S6d4So

Canadiana

January 11, 2019. This is a display inside the local grocery store here in Casselman. It reflects the weather outside quite well - cold and snowy. I got a few things done in the office, but overall, the week wasn't a very productive one. Maybe it will be better next week. https://flic.kr/p/2cMbE6c

Alex on the Floor

Image
January 10, 2019. Back in the office today. Computer troubles persist but I brought the laptop in and managed to be a bit more productive, exploring the finer details of node.js (in an effort to learn how to diagnose harvester problems in Electron). This is Alex in the front hall - from here he can watch my office, the living room, the kitchen, the garage door, and the front door. https://flic.kr/p/2e9PQsH

Dentist Office

Image
January 9, 2018. Worked from home today and thus was 100% more productive. I also took time over the lunch hour to visit the local dentist for a cleaning and light conversation. Best day of the week by far. https://flic.kr/p/2d3MFim

Fire Engine

Image
January 8, 2019. As you can see, driving conditions weren't great. In the office, it was the same, as I encountered one computer issue after another and effectively wasted a second day in a row. My frustration boiled over at times. https://flic.kr/p/2e9PhXP

Wilted

Image
Janyary 7, 2019. This is what happened to my pepper plants after two weeks in the office. Pepper plants really need their water. It's also a pretty good metaphor for the day, which was a complete waste of time as my desktop computer decided to crash every ten minutes or so. I wasn't able to fix it (because so many functions are blocked by computer services) and of course computer service's response was "we'll get there when we get there." Yeah, that was my first Monday back in the office after the break. https://flic.kr/p/2cYL5Yf

At the Hockey Game

Image
January 6, 2019. Andrea watches the hockey game. Another loss for the Senators, but the second period was good, at least. And we got home without losing a tire. So, yay. https://flic.kr/p/2e5PJNa

Geraniums

Image
January 5, 2019. Spent the Saturday working on an Electron RSS reader. Again, the code on the Udemy course was corrupted. I recreated it, but something doesn't work. Bleah. These are the geraniums in the kitchen, still surviving. https://flic.kr/p/2e1aXiG

Bathroom Tile

Image
January 4, 2019. I'm still in deep focus mode studying Electron for the holidays. So the only photo for today is this one of the tile on the bathroom floor. I've spent enough time studying it, surely it deserves inclusion in the photo album. https://flic.kr/p/2cF9Lwi

Eagle Moon

Image
December 3. I bought this lithograph by Roy Henry Vickers at an art shop in Metrotown in 1990 when I was in Vancouver - yes, it is the same trip when I attended the Connectivism conference. I also attended a CFS conference that week, stayed in New Westminster for a four-day vacation, analyzed the Tao Te Ching, and more. For me, it was a week of renewal never to be forgotten. I hung Eagle Moon in my hallway this week - it has been sitting in a box. https://flic.kr/p/2dZmebj

Grocery Day

Image
January 2, 2019. Like everyone else, it seems, we chose today to go into Costco and stock up on groceries. Today was otherwise a rest day - I didn't even do any work on Electron (I'm waiting for Udemy to fix a corrupted download file). https://flic.kr/p/2dXYhG6

A New Year

Image
January 1, 2019. Ice sparkles on the trees out back as the New Year comes in bright and frosty. It was a day of playing on the computer, still learning Electron. https://flic.kr/p/2dXXRdF

Last Day of the Year

Image
December 31, 2018. We got the car back today - yay - and did some shopping at St. Laurant while we were in the city. Then back home, took a nap, set up the new docking port, and watched videos. Yeah - New Years and Netflix. https://flic.kr/p/RPUYdb

Alex Again

Image
December 30, 2018. Pretty much a repeat of yesterday. Spent then day working on Electron, then managed to snap a quick Alex picture in the kitchen. https://flic.kr/p/2cRUrD9

Alex

Image
December 29, 2018. I've been pretty focused on learning electron and haven't been thinking of things like photos. Still, I managed to take this one of Alex in the kitchen. https://flic.kr/p/2bceLqN

Frozen

Image
December 28, 2018. We finally had our Christmas dinner with family as they came to visit us and we all went out to a local restaurant. Cold day today - this is a weed frozen in ice as viewed from the bathroom window. https://flic.kr/p/2bceyg7
