Tables

Image
July 17, 2015. Got a bunch of stuff done in the morning, arrived far too early for my flight, and spent quite a bit of time doing more stuff in the airport, including looking at these tables and the reflection of the airport between me and them. From Flickr http://ift.tt/1gJCPXz

Tributary

Image
June 2, 2015. Another stormy day, rainclouds and conflict. I took a brief moment out of the office to look at the forest just up the road - this tributary runs between Halls Creek and the McLaughlin Reservoir 5 km to the north. This is the view looking north from Crowley Farm Road. If you look closely you can see the beaver swimming in the water. All this land and forest will be wiped out for what they're calling Hall's Creek Villages . Clearcutting to facilitate development in the area (what they call Village 1) has already contributed to flooding, and I'm sure nobody has costed the new bridge that will be required on Crowley Farm Road. It's a beautiful forest, and both the beaver and I will be sad to see it go. From Flickr http://ift.tt/1cxo8nM

October 4, 2014. It was cool and rainy this morning but I and about 75 others went out for the Ride for Refuge event to raise money for the homeless. Here we are at Gorge Road and Ammon Road. It was 50K to Upper Mountain Road ( bonus photo ) and back. I ended up very wet but happy to contribute. from Flickr http://ift.tt/Z1Ia2U

Tree #8

May 15, 2014. Andrea and I went out to Vaughan Harvey Bvld to take part in a tree planting program with the City. Naturally our nice sunny day turned cold and rainy for the planting. We were assigned tree #8, which turned out to be a gingko. That's Andrea with our tree part way through the planting process. from Flickr http://flic.kr/p/nkBCbK
