April 17, 2026. We finally had a nice day. I stretched my cycling distance a bit to visit family in Embrun, but nobody was home. Still, it was perfect cycling weather and I made much better speed than I thought for this time of the year. #SDDaily. URL: https://ift.tt/r9AbT2O

I've been struggling the last few weeks with a medial collateral ligament injury, caused by all that walking on bad shoes in Toronto. The only thing I can do that doesn't hurt is to cycle (how ironic). Got a brace (my very first brace) and that helps. Sweltering

July 12, 2025. A scene on the road just north of St. Albert on my usual cycling loop. Back from Mont Tremblant. Got out for a short ride in some very hot temperatures. I noted to myself that I've reached the point where cycling is actually effortless. P.S. The Coming Storm

July 13, 2025. These are the tracks at Boundary Road a few kilometers west of Avonmore. I wanted to go on a longer ride today, despite the heat. Stopped for a nice lunch at Rockin' Rondas in Avonmore, then had to race the rain on the way back. The rain won. As I stood there in the middle of the gale about 13 km from home, a guy from a nearby farm stopped and offered me a lift. So the ride was cut short, but in fairness, I did not prepare for rain at all, because ti was only a 50km ride. https://flic.kr/p/2rgHpnM
