Drumlin


August 21, 2021. This is the scene at sunset from on top of a drumlin, a large hill created by glaciation. The sun was a brilliant ruby red (the picture doesn't do it justice) because of the smoke in the air from the many forest fires. Today was another heat-warning day and my ride was a shorter 50km - but it was basically all uphill as I started at the lake, clumped the escarpment, and then, finally, this infernal hill. Worked through the morning, drove home at lunch (much easier!) and spent the afternoon working from home. Dow's Lake

March 2, 2024. The frozen surface of Dow's lake with a sheen of meltwater on it. This was a view as I took an 11 km ride on my new bicycle today. First ride of the year, first ride on the new bike.
