Trailer
June 17, 2025. New trailer arrived today from the Netherlands. After my aborted trial run in May, I decided I was putting too much trust in too few wheels, especially with the extra load required for questionable weather and a long excursion far from home. A lot of research later, I opted for a Radical Cyclone Trekking IV. Tested it on the Norco road bike while I'm still waiting for a new wheel after the issue I had in May. Office Complex

April 19, 2025. Small creet where it crosses the back road just north of St. Albert. The turquoise water is a sure sign it's all snow melt. Lime Kiln Trail
April 13, 2025. A stretch of boardwalk on the Lime Kiln train where we went for our Sunday hike. The trail is in the west end, just off Moodie Drive. It's a rocky area alternating between swamp and cedar forest, and was the victim of a forest fire in 2012 (hence all the dead trees in one part of it). Beautiful spring day. https://flic.kr/p/2qXAKZ6

April 11, 2025. We took Julia to the vet at noon today for her annual checkup. Normally we would take her with the other cats, but she was well entrenched under the bed and not budging, so we had to reschedule. All is fine with the cats, and they've had their vaccines updated. Bike Ride
April 7, 2025. It was still a bit cold but I managed to get out for my first bike ride of the season. Thanks to winter work on the trainer I had no difficulty cycling 25 km, just need to figure out how to keep my head warm. Match 21, 2025. I attended the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization conference at Carleton today. I felt a bit like an outsider but it was important to me to listen firsthand to what people had to say. Interestingly, going to the conference made me feel better for the rest of the day - not because people are still struggling to achieve EDID, but just to see people who are interested and passionate about this work.
