November 5, 2025. Broken. The downstairs toilet broke so after work on Thursday I bought a new one. Removed the old one and found it was the mount in the floor that was broken. Beyond my ability so I called a plumber. He could fix the mount but when we looked at the new toilet, this is what we found. Ack! But the old toilet was still good, so he fixed the mount and reinstalled it. We took the new one back to Home Depot and they took the return. This counts as a high stress day for me. #SDDaily. We went for a walk around Hog's Back Falls in Ottawa, including along the west shore of the river downstream, where there is no actual trail, a route I definitely do not recommend. P.S. July 13, 2025. These are the tracks at Boundary Road a few kilometers west of Avonmore. I wanted to go on a longer ride today, despite the heat. Stopped for a nice lunch at Rockin' Rondas in Avonmore, then had to race the rain on the way back. The rain won. As I stood there in the middle of the gale about 13 km from home, a guy from a nearby farm stopped and offered me a lift. So the ride was cut short, but in fairness, I did not prepare for rain at all, because ti was only a 50km ride. https://flic.kr/p/2rgHpnM

July 12, 2025. A scene on the road just north of St. Albert on my usual cycling loop. Back from Mont Tremblant. Got out for a short ride in some very hot temperatures. I noted to myself that I've reached the point where cycling is actually effortless. P.S.
