July 24, 2015. Took the train to A Coruña on the north coast of Spain, overlooking the Bay of Biscay, and walked 10km from the train station to this promontory on which stands the 1st century Roman lighthouse called the Tower of Hercules . It was rehabilitated in the late 1700s and is in excellent shape, and of course, I climed the 284 steps to the top. From Flickr http://ift.tt/1RYRfDS

July 23, 2015. Mostly a day to recover and have a very long dinner with my hosts, but I also found time to take a walk around the northeast part of the city, where I found these stairs. As soon as I saw them I knew I would be climbing them.
