October 20, 2023. This is the fort at the centre of Funchal, Madeira, a Portuguese island in the middle of the Atlantic. Today was jet lag day - I slept in way too late and spent the other half of the day wandering around. So far, I really like Madeira. https://flic.kr/p/2paSg1p

October 19, 2023. Lisbon in the rain. Arrived in the morning planning to spend a day walking in Lisbon. But it was pouring rain, and there was no place to stash my luggage, so it wasn't ideal (on the bright side, my new raincoat performed beautifully). I spent a little time in the city, mostly at a little cafe. Flight to Funchal was 3 hours late which made for a long day with lots of airport time. https://flic.kr/p/2paSay7

October 11, 2023. I took a short hike down the trail right where the Larose Forest meets the Nation River. It was all overgrown (big contrast to what it was like when I was there in the sprint). But you have to love the fall foliage. https://flic.kr/p/2p9fWkT

October 9, 2023. We went to Montreal for the football game today. Our team was thoroughly crushes and all the Montreal fans has a great time. But we went there knowing we were going to lose, so it didn't matter so much, and it was quite a bit of fun. https://flic.kr/p/2p9fqYx

October 5, 2023. This is one last look at the Mont Tremblant forest, at the top of the mountain, before we had to leave today and drive back home. The weather- which had been beautiful all week - finally turned to rain. https://flic.kr/p/2p8w5mN

October 4, 2023. This is a scene along the Caps trail as we climbed Mont Tremblant today. It's my second time climbing it, and I've lost count of how many times Andrea has done it. I fell a few times, and in one fall I smashed the glass on my phone. But it was still a brilliant walk up the mountain, and as before, I wasn't sore or bruised after. October 2, 2023. These are the falls in the Riviere Rouge at Labelle. Today I went for a cycle up the P'tit Train du Nord from Mont Tremblant. I had lunch at the train station restaurant - something I missed on my big trip because it was closed.
