Great Spangled Fritillary

July 11, 2016. I spotted dozens and dozens of these beautiful orange butterflies yesterday on my bike ride in LaRose forest. I couldn't get a goot photo with my phone but went back today with a proper camera to get this and a half dozen other images. The Great Spangled Fritillary in this area were feeding almost exclusively on the purple flowers seen in the photo, Joe Pye Weed (or Eutrochium) grwoing along the side of thee road in a few select (relatively wet) areas of the forest. Accomplishments: - reviewed a paper - update my information on the corporate intranet From Flickr http://ift.tt/29wDdVq
