July 30, 2022. We came back from Mont Tremblant to find the Village had hired landscapers to cut down all the foliage on our property. It wasn't surprising, given the notice they had sent, though we *did* cut the grass. But we did not cut down our goldenrods and milkweed plants. We're doing everything we can to help butterflies, but these count as noxious weeds here. And *that* is an object lesson in how you can't rely on individual action to respond to environmental issues - the real issues are at the government and corporate level, and individual actions are too often simply overruled.
